Description

Examines pain management as related the inflammatory response. Inflammation physiology and topical supplementation implementation with
formulation specifics is covered in detail. Topics covered will include the characterization of inflammation, the cardinal signs of inflammation,
physiology, as well as acute vs. chronic inflammation. An overview on NSAIDs is covered and includes problems associated with oral administration of NSAIDs, oral vs. topical distribution of NSAIDs, and efficacy of topical administration of NSAIDs. The course also teaches about the use of alternative topical supplementation as indicated for inflammatory
responses. Practical examination of utilization of topical supplementation is demonstrated over numerous body areas in conjunction with condition
specific considerations.

Instructor

Dr. Cohen is a 1997 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Life Chiropractic College. He has been in private practice in Charlotte, NC since 1997. Dr. Cohen has served as a consultant for product development in the field of topical supplementation. He has consulted in the development of inflammation management topical formulations and worked extensively with patients using such topical formularies. Dr. Cohen has also co-developed formularies in the field of Bio-identical hormone replacement utilizing topical hormone therapies involving progesterone, estriol, and Dhea. Dr. Cohen has also developed treatment protocols and patient therapy regimens based on topical supplementation in these areas.
