Dr. Italia graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in 1988 as valedictorian of the class. Prior to attending Chiropractic College, Dr. Italia attended Springfield College in Massachusetts studying in the field of exercise science. After graduating, he worked in the fitness industry and became a certified fitness, strength and conditioning specialist working with many bodybuilders at the time. This healthy lifestyle led him to enroll into chiropractic college where he excelled and received numerous awards in addition to attaining his acupuncture certification. Since graduating, Dr. Italia started a chiropractic office that has grown into four chiropractic, physical therapy, and rehabilitation facilities in the state of Connecticut and has received the “Hartford favorite chiropractor award” for four different years. After chiropractic college, Dr. Italia continued to study both nutrition and neurology eventually achieving diplomat status in both fields. He has since been certified as a clinical nutritionist and is state licensed as such. He has worked with top athletes on conditioning and nutrition, including top ten world rated boxers and professional bodybuilders. Over the years, Dr. Italia continued to increase his knowledge in the field of nutrition and subsequently received both his masters and doctorate. His thesis and specialty in nutrition is anti-aging medicine and the use of nutrition and nutritional agents to treat disease and illness. In addition to operating four chiropractic facilities, he is also an adjunct professor at the University of Bridgeport teaching in the Nutrition Masters program.
